Mrs. Lurene Margret Wilkins born in 1929 in Bastrop, TX.,went to be the Lord on Monday February 20, 2012. She was Preceded in death by her first husband; George t. Cunning sr., Son; Sammy O. Cunning, three Brothers: Edward,John and Sammy wunneburger, her dear parents: Samuel and Lula Wunneburger, and missionaries John and Wanda Casias. She was "Born Again" in 1941, and Surrendered to the Mission field in 1946. She graduated from The Bible Baptist Seminary, and became a pastors wife in 1950. She went into the mission field after the Death of her preacher husband, George Cunning Sr. in 1989. Miss Penny started a prayer retreat in Monterey, Mexico in 1991, which will have its 21st annual meeting in September of this year-2012. She married Dr. James Wilkins on March 1, 1995, and together they started a food bank in 1999, which has distributed many tons of food during the past 13 years, and has led other to dedicate their lives to Christ. Lurene had traveled over 500,000 miles in 37 States, Canada, Mexico and the Philippines on preaching tours. She has been a happy, faithful member of Valley Bible Baptist Church, under Pastor Brian McMath, for The past 6 years. She has "LEFT ON VACATION" on February 20th, 2012, an is now fellowshipping with family, friends and Converts, waiting to be re-assigned a position in the thousand year reign under her beloved Savior, King Jesus. She is survived by her beloved husband, Dr. James Wilkins, Three Children: George Cunning, Janet Clark and Janice Denniston, Five step children: Alanna Capps, Lyndol Wilkins, Michelle Wilkins, Jaimi Finch, and Paul Wilkins, also two brothers Otis Wunneburger and Jodie Wunneburger, and three Sisters: Gladys O'haver, Alice Goodson and Monnie Green, 19 grandchilren, 13 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, Brian McMath and family, Valley Bible Baptist Church Family and A host of friends. A funeral service was held on February 23, 2012 at The Valley View Baptist Church in Arroyo Seco, NM. Another funeral service was held at The Church at Meadow Creek, in Bedford, Texas, on February 25, 2012. The interment took place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Irving, TX.
