Maclovio Romero “Max” passed away peacefully at home on Saturday June 19th, surrounded by his loving family. He was proceeded in death by the love of his life Maria and his amazing son Harold. Maclovio was married to his beautiful wife Maria for over 60 amazing years. Together they had 7 incredible children. He took great pride in being an amazing husband, son, brother, father and grandfather. He instilled in his family that family is the most important thing in life and to always take care of each other. He was a strict father but at the same time a kind, humble, and loving father. He loved each of his kids and had an amazing relationship with each of them. Above all else Maclovio loved his wife Maria. She was the love of his life and he made sure to remind everyone daily of his love for her. He was a loving man full of love and happiness. His smile was contagious to anyone around him. He had a positive impact on anyone he met. He will be greatly missed but the echoes of his laughter will always remain.
Maclovio retired from the State of New Mexico in the late 90’s. He also worked as a butcher for Johnnys Market for over 20 years. Maclovio also had experience working as a barber, auto mechanic, and construction worker. He was a jack of all trades and a master of all. There was never a problem too big or a problem to complex for him to figure out. He approached life with the big picture in mind but always kept his eye on the details. There was never a family problem that he could not fix.
Maclovio is survived by his siblings Cornelio and Rudy Romero of Mora, and his 6 remaining children, Carla Mendoza, Bernie Romero (Susie), Dorothy Romero-Lowe (Dewey), Darlene C De Vaca (Victor), Paulette Muniz (Marty), and Nicole Romero. Maclovio is also survived by eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Alfredo and Antonita Romero, his beloved brothers William, Rogerio, and Alfredo Romero, his beloved sister Catilde Romero and his much-loved son-in-law Alvino Indio Mendoza.
A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. followed by funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. at Santa Maria de La Paz, located at 11 College Dr, Santa Fe, NM.
Interment will follow the mass at Rosario cemetery.
