Manuelita Mondragon, 94, of Llano Quemado passed away on September, 14, 2014 surrounded by loved ones. She was born Manuelita Griego in 1919 in Talpa, NM to the late Luciano and Prudencia Griego. Manuelita lived most of her life in Taos with her loving husband, Elfido Mondragon. She was an ambitious woman who enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, traveling, loved to pray with others and enjoyed meeting new people. She is preceded in death by her husband, Elfido Mondragon, daughter, Claudina Mondragon, sons, Bennie and Leo Mondragon, daughter in-law, Manuelita Mondragon, son in-law, John Garcia and 12 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Arturo Mondragon (Clara) and daughter, Ann Garcia, daughter in-laws, Bernice Mondragon and Fabby Mondragon, 14 grandchildren,14 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, sister in-law, Faye Griego and numerous nephews and nieces.
Evening service was held on September 16, 2014 at Rivera Chapel. Funeral service was held on September 17, 2014 at Grace Brethren Church in Cañon. Serving as casket bearers were Art Mondragon Jr., James Mondragon, David Mondragon, Justin Garcia, Johnathon Garcia and Joshua Garcia. Honorary bearers were Ronnie Mondragon, Steven Mondragon and Fernando Mondragon.
