Manuel & Terry Gonzales

Manuel Gonzales, 84, went to be with The Lord on Tuesday, June 8th, 2021. Manuel was born in Clovis, New Mexico to Fernandez Gonzales and Ricardita Zamora on September 29th 1937.

Terry Gonzales, 80, went to be with The Lord on Saturday August 28th, 2021. Terry was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Frank P Aragon and Eloisa Gallegos on November 11th 1940.

Manuel and Terry are both survived by their son Manuel F Gonzales and wife LaVon, and daughter Geraldine T Romero. They are also survived by their grandchildren Jenica Gonzales, Raeanna Romero, and Ryan Romero; brothers and sisters Frank Aragon Jr. (Manuelita) Julia Sanchez (Jimmy), Ernest Aragon (Maryann), Ismael Aragon (Vidal), and Rita Garcia (Alex), numerous nephews and nieces, valued family members and friends.   Manuel and Terry were predeceased by their daughter in law Jo Ann Gonzales and their son in law Ray Romero, his brother Bennie, wife Francis and sister Betty.

Manuel and Terry were married for 59 long and happy years and both cherished their time together with family and friends.

After meeting in the early 1960’s, Manuel joined the army and proudly served his country in France and El Paso, before returning to school and obtaining both a BS in Biology from the University of New Mexico as well as a MS in Aerosol Physics from the University of Little Rock.  While working on his Masters degree, Manuel had a fellowship with Los Alamos National Labs, where he continued his career, ultimately retiring after holding many Engineering and Management roles for the Lab. 

Terry went to school in Albuquerque and became a Legal Secretary, working for top law firms in Albuquerque.  After successfully raising their two children and seeing both off to college, Terry returned to the workforce where she served the community in the personnel department at Sunwest Bank in Santa Fe, before retiring with Manuel. They lived the majority of their lives in Santa Fe and enjoyed spending time with family, reading, playing games with friends and on their tablets, and traveling.

Services for both Manuel and Terry will be held in Santa Fe at St. Annes Catholic Church on Friday, October 8 at 10am.  511 Alicia St, Santa Fe, NM, 87501, Burial to take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45pm.  501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM, 87501. For those who would like to join the family on Thursday night, a Rosary service will be held at Rivera Funeral Home at 6pm in Santa Fe, 417 Rodeo Rd, Santa Fe, NM, 87505, followed by refreshments.
