Margaret “Peggy” Crumbacher (née Taylor) of Santa Fe, NM, passed away at Christus St. Vincent Hospital on August 23rd at the age of 74. She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Paul Crumbacher, and their children: Christopher, Julie (Hasted), Jennifer (Wolfenden), Rebecca, Joseph, Mary, and John, and their families. Peggy is also survived by five sisters: Mary Hassouna, Carol Claypool, Joanne Forgue, Rae Taylor, and Anne DelMonte, and their families.
Raised in Denver, CO, the 3rd of seven girls, Peggy studied at St. Joseph’s School of Nursing and took a job in San Francisco where she met and fell in love with Paul. Living in California, Washington, and New Mexico, Paul and Peggy raised their seven children together. As a family, they enjoyed camping trips, sing-a-longs, and walking in the mountains. Peggy delighted in the beauty of nature, loved listening to music and singing, and found great pride in her roles as mother and wife.
Once her children were grown, Peggy took up a number of hobbies and discovered a talent for weaving, which brought her joy for many years. More recently, she enjoyed watching football with friends and reading the interesting parts of mystery novels.
Peggy was a stranger to no one and spread God’s love through her kindness and generosity to others. She was vibrant, joyful, and loving. Memories of her will be carried by many loved ones, friends, and acquaintances.
A Rosary Ceremony will be at 7 pm on Friday, September 9th. The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 10th. Both services will be held at Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Church in Santa Fe.
