Margaret Valdez

January 28, 1935 — July 31, 2024

Margaret Valdez, aged 89, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was cherished deeply by those she loved so profoundly and selflessly.

 

Born on January 28, 1935, Margaret spent much of her life in Santa Fe, New Mexico with her husband, sweetheart, and best friend, Henry "Happy" Valdez. The two shared nearly every day of their sixty-nine-year marriage together, making their home the heart of the family. Margaret's greatest joy was nurturing and raising her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her boundless love, kindness, and dedication touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. She leaves a legacy of maternal love that will continue inspiring and guiding the Valdez family for endless generations. 

 

She is survived by husband Happy, her five children and their families: Jimmy Valdez, Lynette Montoya-Valdez, children Jimmy, John, Alex, Nic, grandchildren Lily, Rose, and Clare. Rosalie Ramirez, Salomon Ramirez (deceased), children Amanda Chavez, her husband Cedric Chavez and children Elena and Benjamin; Ryan Ramirez and his wife Tracy Ramirez, and child Kianah. Henry Valdez, his partner Victoria Bransford and his child Henry Valdez, his wife Marina Rossi, and child Kailani. Kenny Valdez, his wife Veronica Valdez (deceased), children Kevin Valdez, Tarrah Valdez, and her child Sophia Fisher. Patricia Valdez, Zina Jundi and child Krista Valdez and her children Bridget Valdez, Giselle Valdez, and Hera Valdez. 

 

Margaret is also preceded in death by Sadie & Trinidad Ortiz, Paul Archuleta, Consuelo Archuleta, Adela Gonzales, Melvin Griego, Dennis Stanley, Connie Ortiz. Survived by her siblings, Valentina Griego, Cecilia Stanley, Nellie Martinez (Francisco), Michael Archuleta (Priscilla), Diana Archuleta, Susie Archuleta-Leyba (Phil), Bertha Archuleta, Carlos Gonzales. 

 

Even though Margaret is apart from her family in life, she will always be with them, as each is stronger, and better because of her. She is deeply missed.

  • Mass: Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. John's Catholic Church
  • Burial: Rosary Cemetery
  • Reception: Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Santa Fe Country Club
