Margie Garcia

Margie M. Garcia, passed away on March 30, 2022 surrounded by her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Rosarito and Filomeno Montano, husband; Gilbert Garcia, sons; Dale Garcia and Jeff Garcia.

She is survived by her daughters; Deborah Sanchez (Ted), and Patricia Anzures, sons; Jimmie Garcia and Joedy Garcia, granddaughters; Melanie Rodriguez (Joe), Nicole Romero (Chris) and Britney Garcia, grandsons; John Montoya (Bernice), Dominic Anzures, Josh Anzures and Aaron Garcia, 7 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.  She has a special friend that was like a daughter to her Denise Miranda from San Antonio, Texas.

We would like to thank all the staff at Amber Care for all their love and support, for our mother also a special neighbor and friend Angie Chavez. 

Margie Garcia was a lifelong resident of Santa Fe, New Mexico.  She was called to be with the lord on March 30, 2022. Her smile and laughter will live in our hearts forever.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandma and friend.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed shopping and going with her husband to Santo Domingo for their yearly fiestas and to Chimayo to buy her chili. She enjoyed reading her prayer books.  She loved buying her crochet blankets and sharing them with her family.  Her specialty in the kitchen was making her famous posole and chili piquin and sopa, for her children and grandchildren when they came over to visit her.  She enjoyed wearing her pearl necklace and pink sweaters.  She will be greatly missed.

Viewing for Margie will be on April 11, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. at Rivera Family Kiva Chapel of Light Funeral Home at 417 East Rodeo Road, Santa Fe New Mexico. A rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. and the mass is at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church 1301 Osage Ave, Santa Fe, New Mexico.  Burial will be at 12:00 p.m. at Rivera Family Funeral Home at Santa Fe Memorial Gardens.
