Maria Moya (Little Nana)
Maria Moya, a lifelong resident of Santa Fe, NM, was called to the Lord on December 19, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emilia and Samuel Montoya; her grandparents,
Delfina and Juan Montoya; one brother; two sisters; her children, Joann, Richard, and Raymond
Jr.; and her grandchildren, Steve Atilano and Ashley Gallegos. She is survived by her children,
Joe, Debbie, David, and Ramona; her partner of 40 years, Jaime Bravo; her 21 grandchildren,
Joann, Joe Manuel, Jerry, Jada Rae, Steve, Juanita, Dave, Josaphine, David (Benidick), David
(Geets), Davina, Jennifer, Ashley, Chantel, Bianca, Emilia, Amythest, Raymond III, and Isabella;
her 26 great-grandchildren; and her 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Maria was deeply involved in her family's businesses, helping her mother, Emilia, at the Jordan
Cafe in the Santa Fe Plaza during the 1960s and later at the Mine Shaft Tavern in Madrid, NM, in
the 1970s. She was the proud owner of Nana's Catering for 40 years and catered for Rancho de
las Golondrinas for 29 years. In the 1990s, she ran her business at the Joseph Montoya Building
in Santa Fe, NM.
Maria had a strong faith in God and was devoted to her Catholic beliefs. Her greatest joys were
her family, cooking, doll collecting, dancing, visiting the casino, and interior design. She was
also an excellent baker, which was one of her many hobbies. Maria was a very hard worker,
known for her strong, ambitious, and resilient nature. She will be dearly missed by all who knew
her.
