Maria Enedina (Edna) Schutz Age: 92 Resident: White Rock, NM. She went to be with our Lord on April 18, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her children Bill, Leroy, Karen and Maria.
Edna was born on August 6, 1932, in La Jara, CO, to Pedro and Isabel Padilla. She married William Joshua Schutz, Sr. on August 16, 1956, in Los Alamos, NM, beginning a loving partnership that lasted 63 years.

Edna led a life rich in work, family, and faith. Her career was diverse, including positions as a waitress, supermarket checker, and bus driver’s aide for Los Alamos Public Schools, where she transported children with special needs. She retired after over 20 years of dedicated service with Smith’s Food and Drug Store in White Rock, NM.
Edna was a devout Catholic whose faith was the cornerstone of her life. Known as a prayer warrior, her spirituality guided her actions. Family was central to her world, and she cherished gatherings, particularly memorable family reunions. The last five years of her life were spent traveling to Oregon, Colorado, Arizona, Alaska, San Diego and Las Cruces, NM to vacation and spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She cherished time with her family. She enjoyed bowling in her early years, camping, cruising, and held an unwavering allegiance as a passionate New York Yankee fan. She was an incredible cook of Southwest Spanish cuisine and had a beautiful singing voice especially for her favorite Spanish songs. She was also an incredible dancer, paired with her beloved husband.

· Rosary Service: Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Los Alamos, NM on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 10:00 am.
· Funeral Mass: Same location, following the rosary at 10:30 am.
· Reception: Karen McLaughlin Parish Hall, adjacent to the church, immediately following the mass.
· Private Ceremony: Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 pm.
