Maria Bennett

Maria Isabel Montoya Bennett passed away February 6, 2022. She died peacefully in her home and in the company of her family. Isabel was very religious and would pray daily for those in need. She fought courageously with her illness, never complained, and was more concerned about others.

Isabel is preceded in death by her parents, Ramon Montoya, Rose Montoya and recently by her younger brother Johnny Montoya (Tresa). Surviving Isabel are her husband George Bennett, four daughters Kathy DeBest (Mike), Karyn Bennett, Devon Ashley Bennett (Nathaniel), her special daughter Janis Bennett (Marissa) and four grandchildren Josh, Jared, Ricky and Aubree. She is also survived by many family members and friends. She held a loving memory for her special Godchildren, Laura Gallegos and Audrey Henderson.

Isabel’s family are heartbroken by her loss.  She brought sunshine into the world at a time when it was needed. The family would like to recognize Janis Bennett for her loving care that she gave to her mother. A special thanks to Father Jordan Sanchez who was present with the family in their time of need and Deacon Eloy Gallegos who organized the church service.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, March 7, 2022, at 10am at Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Community. A reception will follow the mass at the Parish Hall. Burial service will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at 2:15pm at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
