Maria C. Ida Ortega

Maria Ida Ortega, 82 of Llano Largo passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Manuel and Criseldita Medina, husband, Juan O. Ortega, brother, Ruben Medina, sister, Frances Espinoza and grandson, David Lopez. She is survived by her children, Joseph Ortega (Esther), Priscilla Lopez (Orlando), Sammy Ortega (Sandra), Isabel Yates (John), Sharon Ortega (Juan Dominguez) and Elaine Cordova (Orlando), sister, Mary Noland (Bill), many grandchildren and great grandchildren, half brothers, Senovio Medina (Maria), Jacky Medina (Helen), Lloyd Medina, Manuel Medina (Darlene), Abran Medina (Nancy), half-sister, Mary Lopez, cousin, Lena Gallegos, many other relatives and friends. She enjoyed tending to her flowers, being surrounded by her family, sewing blankets and various crafts. She also enjoyed cooking for her family. She made the best bread, pies and jellies. Ida also had a great sense of humor, even when she was in pain. She always put everyone else first before herself and was the best mother and was the foundation of the family. Her family will cherish all the wonderful memories and they will carry her in their hearts forever and ever. Thanks to Fr. Simeon Wimmershoff, Josefa Rodriguez, Mountain Home Health, Deirdra, Pat, Michelle, Dr. Gould, the wonderful ladies that came to sing for her that she so loved to hear sing and the staff at Rivera Funeral Home. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Rosaries were recited on October 24, 2015 and on October 25, 2015. Funeral mass was held on October 26, 2015 at San Antonio de Padua church. Interment followed at the San Juan de Nepomuceno Morada Cemetery in Llano de San Juan. Arrangements by Rivera Family Funeral Home.
