Maria E. Martinez

Maria E. Martinez age 62 of Sombrillo died peacefully on Tuesday June 15, 2010 in Santa Fe after a lengthy illness. She was born in El Guique to Juan and Ernestina Martinez and was preceded in death by them as well as her dear son John Martinez, brothers Fermin and Fridolin Martinez, father and mother in law Ernesto and Amalia Martinez and brother in law Leroy Trujillo. She is survived by her dear husband of 40 years, Julian Martinez, children Julie Medina and husband Mario of San Pedro and Stephanie Martinez and husband Harold of Espanola, grandchildren; Layla of the family home, John of Alaska, Moorea and Ava of San Pedro, Marcos and Mia Martinez of Espanola, and great grandchild; Monroe of Phoenix, AZ., brothers and sisters; Liria Delgado and husband Edward of San Pedro, Sarah Sandoval and husband Dan of Santa Fe, Erma Chavez and husband Miguel of El Guique, Anita Marquez and husband Juan of Santa Fe, Amelia Trujillo of WA., and Jimmy Martinez and wife Elaine of El Guique as well as numerous nephews & Nieces and brothers and sisters in law and relatives. Recitation of the rosary will be on Wednesday June 16th at 7:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at Ohkay Owingeh. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. also at church with interment to follow at The San Rafael Cemetery in El Quique with the following serving as pallbearers: Harold and Jimmy Martinez, Carlos Jaramillo, Miguel Chavez, Mario Medina and Danny Delgado.
