Maria Padilla

It is with great sadness the family of Angelina "Angie" B. Padilla, age 84, resident of El Llano, New Mexico, announces she peacefully passed away into the arms of our Lord in Heaven. With her family by her side Angie received the blessing of eternal life on April 21, 2023, after an extended illness. Angie B. Padilla was born on March 31, 1939, to Lugardita and Melquiades Bustos in Chamita, New Mexico.

Angie loved cooking Sunday morning breakfast for her family, inviting them over for menudo and her freshly made perfect tortillas. Angie enjoyed listening to KDCE radio station, talking to her sisters daily, socializing at the casino and senior center when she could. Angie looked forward to her visits from her medical care providers, Charles "Chacha" and Lillianna, with Presbyterian Hospice. Throughout her life Angie was a fighter and never gave up.

Angie is survived by Son Gilberto Ruben Padilla Jr. (Marison Montoya); Daughter's Barbara Padilla, Nancy Padilla, Michael Pacheco whom she loved as a son, Angela (Orlando) Cruz; Grandchildren Dominic Padilla, Carolyn Gonzales, Donna (Kenny) Casados, Angelina (Ernie) Brito, Jordan (Kayla) Dominguez, Eric (Monica) Schwiner; Godchildren Russel Lovato and Angela Padilla; Many Great-Grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; Siblings Horacio and Wilfred Bustos, Eufelia Tapia, Bennie (Eric) Shackter, Dollie (Efrin) Mercado; Special sisters-in-law Rose Padilla w/ Victor Saiz, Theresa (Don) Watts; Good friend Doris Martinez.

Angie was predeceased by Parents Lugardita and Melquiades Bustos; Daughter Phyllis Padilla Gonzales; Son Joe Padilla; Grandsons Darrel Padilla and Wesley Gonzales; and Brother Alfonso Bustos; Father of her children Gilbert "Paddy" Padilla.

Pallbearers; Michael Pacheco, Dominic Padilla, Angel Brito, Russel Lovato, Jerry Archuleta, Efrin Mercado, Jake Tapia; Honorary Pallbearers all her grandchildren.

A public viewing will be held Tuesday May 2, 2023 at 6pm at Rivera Funeral Home in Espanola, NM. A rosary will also be held May 2, 2023 at 7pm at Rivera Funeral Home in Espanola NM. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday May 3, 2023 at 12pm at Sacred Heart Church (Espanola, NM). Interment to follow also at Sacred Heart Church (Espanola, NM).
