Maria "Patie" Elena Gallegos

Patie was born in Long Beach CA, raised in Wilmington C.A. She went to Wilmington Park Elem., Wilmington Jr High and Graduated from Phineas Banning High School. She then went on to Cosmetology school. Patie met her husband Billy William Gallegos from Santa Fe N.M. who was stationed at the Naval Base in Long Beach, C.A. They relocated here to Santa Fe. She loved working with Autistic children, special needs and deaf children at many different elementary schools in Santa Fe, N.M. She spoke English, Spanish and American Sign Language. Also she loved arts & crafts, animals, swimming, yoga, belly dancing, dancing, meditation, exercise, watching movies, old cars and teaching her great grandchildren before entering school. Leaving behind her husband Billy William Gallegos of 48 years, 2 children Sophia Polasky (Ethan), Billy William Gallegos Jr (Jessica), 2 grandchildren Raven Macias (Maximo), Eian Chang, 2 great grandchildren Elena Marie Herrera & Emma Faye Herrera, 3 sisters Belen (Leo), Terry (Carlos), Nannette and cousin Lisa C. She loved life and was very loved. We will remember her with bright eyes, a warm smile and free spirit. She will be missed!
