Mariquita Martinez

Mariquita Martinez age 73 of Chimayo, NM. died peacefully on Sunday February 28, 2010. Her family was near her side at her residence as she joined her Lord in her everlasting life. She was born to the late Praxedes and Onofre Martinez in Chimayo and resided there her entire life. She was also preceded in death by her son Escolastico Martinez, Father and Mother in law Esquipula and Theresita Martinez, sister Adelina Martinez, brother Thomas Martinez, daughters in law Theresa Martinez and Lori Gallegos, sister in law Celina Martinez and recently by her brother in law Floyd Martinez. She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years Orlando Martinez and daughters; Orlinda Martinez of Chimayo, Lorraine Martinez and husband Ronald of Canjilon, Darlene Martinez and companion Johnny Trujillo of Chimayo, and sons Leroy, Jerry and Ricky Martinez of Chimayo, 16 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren, brothers Eloy Martinez and wife Mae of Albuquerque, Jose Martinez and wife Estolia of Chimayo, brother in law Horacio Martinez and wife Ruth of Chimayo, Raymond Martinez and wife Concha of Chimayo, Carlos Martinez of Chimayo, sister Ida Salazar and special nieces Lydia Sandoval and Molly Cordova as well as other relatives. Recitation of the rosary will be held on Tuesday March 2nd at 7:45 pm. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, the mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:00 am. also at church with Fr. Julio celebrating. The interment will follow at The Nuestra Senora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayo. The family appreciates all of the care and prayers regarding their beloved Mariquita
