Mark Cata

Born in Santa Fe, NM, in 1962 Mark Cata is known as beloved father, son, brother, granfather, uncle, and friend to many. Mark passed away Sunday, August 30th, and will be remembered as an avid fisherman, a casino lover, and for his presence at family gatherings, which he loved. 

Mark is preceded in death by both parents Johnny and Juanita Cata, brothers Jake Cata and John Cata, sisters JoAnn Youngbear and Ethee Murphy, neices Yvette Youngbear and Nicole Edmonds, and nephew Ben Youngbear, all of Ohkay Owingeh.

Survivors include Mark's two daughters Markesha Cata (Brittany Esquibel) and Marshay Cata, and grandaughter Remilee White of Ohkay Owingeh, son Mark Martinez of San Ildefonso, sister Georgia Morgan of Gallup, neice Darla Stone (and children) of Ohkay Owingeh, and mother of his daughters, Mildred White of Ohkay Owingeh. 

A viewing will be held Tuesday, September 1st, 2020 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at Rivera Family Funeral Home of Espanola, followed by services Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020 at Ohkay Owingeh beginning at 9 a.m.
