Mark Herrera

November 28, 1992 — May 17, 2022

Mark Anthony Herrera, of Espanola, was welcomed by his loving family on November 28, 1992 and was welcomed by his Heavenly Father on May 17, 2022. He was a 2012 graduate of Pojoaque Valley High School.

Mark Anthony was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother Adelina Chavez, grandfather Alfonso C. Martinez Sr., fraternal great-grandfathers, Leopoldo Gonzales, Augustine Bustos and Faustin Trujillo; great-grandmothers, Benilde Gonzales, Lucy Bustos and Eulemia Trujillo, cousins Robert (Bobby) Martinez and Marissa Martinez.

Mark Anthony is survived by his parents Natalie and Alfonso C. Martinez Jr. of Espanola, and Robert (Bobby) and Elysha Bustos of Fairview; his siblings Analisa Martinez, Danielle Rose Jimenez, Alfonso (AJ) Martinez III and Alizabeth Martinez; his grandparents Kenneth and Janette Beesley of Espanola, Carmen Chacon of Henderson NV, Claudio Chacon of Espanola, Irene Martinez of La Mesilla and Robert and Evelyn Bustos of Alcalde; his Aunts and Uncles: Great-Aunt Casilda Baca, Barbara Johnson, Sandra Gruca, Stephanie Martinez and Aaron Garcia, Reyna and Armando Corral, Alejandro and Sarah Chacon, Crista Chacon, Linda Bustos, and Darlene and Juan Munoz.  Cousins: Dalton and Amber Gruca, Christopher Martinez, Brandon and Nicole Martinez, Adelina Gruca, Dominick Gruca, Santiago Martinez, Aaron Garcia Jr., Gabriella Guevara, Dominique Guevara, Nicolas Chacon, Raquel Chacon, Randy and Tyler Martinez, Amanda Martinez, TJ Martinez, Noah Martinez, Melorie Martinez, Dominic Cata and Aubriee Romero.   Many other cousins, relatives and friends.

Mark Anthony was a handsome, fun loving guy who always made people laugh.  He was a stubborn child that turned into a kind and caring adult who made friends easily.  Anyone who knew him instantly loved him, whether they wanted to or not.  He had a way of leaving a lasting impression, with his dark mysterious eyes and lovable smile.

He will forever be dearly loved and greatly missed. Many hearts are broken and this world will never be the same without him.  Heaven has gained a beautiful soul in receiving Mark Anthony, and for that, may we rejoice in knowing that he is at peace.

Public viewing will take place on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 beginng at 10AM at the Valley Bible Baptist Church, 56 Arroyo Seco Circle, Espanola NM 87532.  A memorial service will follow at 11AM.
