Mary Ruth Garcia

Mary Ruth Garcia, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed peacefully from this world into the arms of Jesus on January 28, 2025. She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Vargas and her son, Jerome Garcia; son-in-law, Feliciano (Theresa) Vargas; daughter-in-law, Vanessa (Jerome) Garcia; grandchildren, Anna (Beto) Marquez, Victoria (Dominic) Espinoza, their children, Julian and Dominic, Feliciano, Danielle, Jasmine and Anthony and countless nieces and nephews who she loved very much. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Vivian and Celina Barela, her husband of 60 years, Edward L. Garcia, her brothers, Harry, Adolfo, Alfonso, Leo, Pedro and Virgilio. Mary studied nursing early in her adult life but gave up those studies to raise her children. She enjoyed being at home surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren who she loved to spoil. She always had a huge bowl of candy and sweets of any kind on her table and an infectious smile on her face. She loved to talk and tell stories about her childhood and the “old days” while drinking a cup of coffee she brewed in her vintage Pyrex glass coffee pot that you could hear jumping on (or off) the stove when you walked through the front door. Full of love, laughter and resilience, she touched the lives of all who knew her. Our family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff of Ambercare and Billy Pierce for their compassionate care and unwavering support provided to Mary the past year and during her final days.
