Mary Anne Shannon

Mary. Anne Shannon , of Santa Fe New Mexico at the age of 88, passed away March 17, 2025. Mary Anne was born June 30, 1936, in Farmington, Maine to Eleanor "Sallie" Hammond and Jordan Tarbox.

After graduating from Westbrook college, Mary Anne came to New Mexico for a job at Los Alamos Labs. Mary Anne and husband Dallas "Kelly" raised their two sons in Tesque and Santa Fe. Mary Anne was an activist in education with other parents to keep the Tesuque Elementary open when faced closure in the mid-70's. Mary Anne continued her career with the engineering firm Scanlon and Associates until her retirement. Mary Anne was known for her quiet smile, love of nature and grace in all of her life dealings.

Mary Anne is survived by her son Brian Kelly Shannon and grandchildren Eric Kelly Shannon, Miranda Leigh Shannon and Cole Christopher Shannon.

Mary Anne is preceded in death by her parents Jordan and Sallie Tarbox, and husband Dallas "Kelly" Shannon and Son Chistopher Michael Shannon.

Mary Anne's celebration of life will be a private family gathering on the Pecos River this spring.
