Mary Ann Phillips-Anaya passed peacefully in the loving presence of her family on October 29, 2021.
Mary Ann was born on January 11, 1937, in Alton, Illinois, her parents Roscoe Dayne and Ella Dora Phillips (deceased) and her sisters Phyllis Corvin (deceased) (spouse Homer) Rosalie Miller (spouse Dee, deceased).
Mary Ann married Joe M Anaya (deceased) the love of her life, high school sweetheart and fellow Stanley Cyclone. Together they began their life-long journey while raising their family in Galisteo, NM and at the ranch in Stanley, NM. Mary Ann and Joe had six children, Rick Anaya, JoAnn Chan (Spouse Roy), Jean Moya (Spouse Steve) Mike D. Anaya (Partner Kevan Saunders), Mark B. Anaya (Spouse Kim) Robert A. Anaya (Partner Doris R. Gallegos).
Mary Ann had many grandchildren Brenna, Tai (Spouse Leah) True, Brian (Spouse Melissa), Craig (Spouse Heather), Matthew, Miranda (Spouse John), Art, Mark, Kendle, Justin, Raylin and Jolin and Fourteen great grandchildren. She loved them all dearly. The grandchildren will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
For your love and support, Aunt Mary Lou and Uncle Hank Salazar, Aunt Clarabelle Anaya, Linda T. Anaya, Dora L. Anaya, and the entire family here and in heaven.
Mary Ann was a devoted and loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, aunt, neighbor, and friend. Mary Ann was a homemaker, carpenter, rancher, and artist. Together with Joe, they raised and taught their kids to love God, get things done, and to help others.
Mary Ann was a very inquisitive person and teacher of life, who loved geology, astronomy, art, history, and the realm of extra-terrestrials. She taught her children, family, and friends to be inquisitive and always seek to learn.
Joe did many things in the community, throughout the State and Country. However, Mary Ann was the CEO of the house. If Joe were alive today he would adamantly agree!
Mary Ann was classy, beautiful, and well put together in her own special way. She loved family and friends and always had lots of fun. Boy she loved to dance!
Mary Ann was devoted and grounded in her catholic faith, while faithfully serving Christ. She was a life-long member of Nuestra Senora de los Remedios Church in Galisteo, NM.
Rosary will be held at 4:00 PM November 7, 2021, at Rivera Family Funerals on 417 East Rodeo Road in Santa Fe, NM
Mass will be held at 10:00 AM November 8, 2021, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on 417 Agua Fria in Santa Fe, NM.
Internment will be in Galisteo, NM, a reception to follow at the Galisteo Fire Department at 39 Avenida Vieja.
A heartfelt thank you to Corey McGillicuddy, all caregivers, family, friends, and neighbors, who supported, loved, and cared for Mary Ann, throughout her life, and in her time of most need, may God bless you all.
