Mary “Anita” Perea, 81, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, surrogate mother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 14, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward Perea Jr.; daughter, Debra Ann; parents, Juan and Adela Espinosa; step mom, Cleo Espinosa; in-laws, Edward and Beatrice Perea; Brothers, Pete, Ernest, Eddie and Gilbert Espinosa; sisters, Irene Griego and Frances Sisneros; brother in laws, Robert O. Perea and Alex Griego. Anita is survived by her loving children; Janet Armijo (Robert), Kathy Webb (David), Charlie Perea, Andy Perea, and Jessica Perea (Florencio “Mouse”). Grandchildren; David J. Webb Jr. (Sher), Mark Webb (Miquela), Kiana Armijo (Elvis), Terrance Armijo (Brittany), Tiedra Armijo – Robles (Andrew), Marissa Armijo (Christina), Arianna Perea (Carlos), Eddy Perea and Jonathan Perea. Great Grandchildren; Maya Webb, David J. Webb III, Lennay Armijo-Paz, Damian Webb, Ariyah Contreras, Levi Armijo-Paz, Emma Rose Contreras; Brothers, Johnny, Paul (Patti), Eliseo and Robert Espinosa; sister, Raymie Hernandez; sister in laws, Esther Espinosa, Patty Espinosa and Rita Perea.
Anita was born on January 10, 1939, in Puerto de Luna, NM to Juan and Adela Espinosa. She grew up in Vaughn, NM but later moved to Santa Fe, NM where she met the love of her life Edward Perea Jr. They got married on May 11, 1963 in Vaughn, NM and made their home in Santa Fe, NM.
nita loved being a homemaker spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and surrogate family. She was “Mom” to many. She had a welcoming home that was always filled with love and laughter. She was the rock of her family becoming a little feistier every year. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Rosary will be recited on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at the Rivera Funeral Chapel Located at 417 East Rodeo Road. Christian Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church located at 1301 Osage Avenue. Reception will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Police located at 3300 Calle Maria Luisa. Interment will take place on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
