Dodo worked for 50 years as the secretary/bookkeeper for Foreign Traders Old Mexico Shop starting in 1948 at the age of 18. It was during this time that Dodo met the love of her life, Andy, who also worked downtown. She retired in 1998 at the age of 68.

She was nurturing, encouraging and supportive, and most of all, she taught the family the values of acceptance, empathy and compassion towards others. You only had to meet her once for her to create a lasting impression. Both her and Andy welcomed all into their home. The home was always the gathering place for holidays, special occasions, and “just because”.

She enjoyed family game night (Aggravation, Kismet, ping pong). She enjoyed her morning coffee, game shows and crossword puzzles. She loved her family and went to every sporting event, musical event until she couldn’t anymore.

Dodo had an amazing sense of humor and was known for her quick wit. She loved to laugh, and she loved when her home was filled with family, food, laughter and music.

Dodo was a diehard Los Angeles Laker fan, and everyone who visited her home was in awe of her purple and yellow bedroom which was decorated with Lakers memorabilia, including a letter she received from the Lakers organization thanking her for her immense support of them. She joked about how she wanted the Lakers to be her pallbearers.

Viewing and Rosary will be December 27 at 6:00 pm at Rosario Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be December 28th at 10:00 am at Santa Maria De La Paz followed by interment at National Cemetery at 12:30 pm.
