Mary D. Velasquez

Mary D. Velasquez, 83, of Ranchos de Taos passed away on September 05, 2009. She retired from the Taos Municipal Schools in 1989 after over 30 years of teaching. She is preceded in death by her parents, T.P. & Sofia Martinez, brothers, Tom Martinez Jr., Joe C. Martinez, Leon Martinez and Ricardo Mickey Martinez and her great grandson, Thomas Edward Gutierrez Jr. She is survived by her children, Gloria Velasquez of Ranchos de Taos and William R. Velasquez of Albuquerque, brother, Edmundo Martinez (Katie) and sister, Justina LeDoux all of Santa Fe. She is also survived by grandchildren, Thomas Edward Gutierrez (Marian) of Arroyo Hondo and Natasha Velasquez (Mike) of Albuquerque and great grandchildren, Karyssa Lianna Gutierrez, Arianna Sophia Gutierrez and Donald Eugene Nodine and many nieces and nephews. Rosary was recited on September 10, 2009 at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church in Ranchos de Taos. Funeral mass was held on September 11, 2009 at San Francisco de Asis Church with interment following at the Martinez Family Cemetery in Ranchos de Taos.
