Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Johnston

Our beloved mother, Mary Elizabeth Johnston (Betty), passed away at Holy Cross Hospital in Taos, NM on July 10th. Exactly 41 years to the date when she arrived here in 1977. She is survived by her companion and lifelong partner, Jeff Rzepecki of Taos, 3 daughters, Sheri Savonen, Dodi McVeety and Neteri Johnston. "Nanny" also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, Belita, Rachel, Mollie, Amy, Trevor, Hallie, Kailey, Sheila, Jesse, Annie, great grandson, Gus and brother, Carlos Gary. She was preceeded in death by her son, David Johnston. Betty loved living life. She loved her faith with God. She loved "her Jeff", her children and her grandchildren with passion. She loved Taos and sailing the oceans. She was known as a lover of life and lived it to the fullest of her ability. A dreamer of dreams. You will be greatly and forever missed- Sail on into the sunset, and when it darkens, keep pressing on into the unknown, that's when most turned back. You always loved a good adventure.
