Maryellen Benavidez

MaryEllen Benavidez, 57, of Norman, Oklahoma, formerly of Pojoaque, New Mexico, unexpected passed away on September 13th, 2012 at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, OK. She is predeceased by her late husband Terry J. Benavidez of Tesuque, NM, her Grandmother Anita Salazar and Grandfather Enrique Salazar of Pojoaque, NM, her Father Rubel Sena of Santa Fe, NM, and Stepfather John Daly of Pojoaque, NM. MaryEllens faith in God, love for her family and abiding friendships were the bases for all that was important in her life. She was a hard worker, but when it came to family and friends, there was no comparison! Her smile and laughter were constant reminders of how much she loved life and all it had to offer. She was a loving mother and Grandmother to her beautiful Granddaughters. MaryEllen relished her many visits to New Mexico especially during the holidays and green chili season. We will ALL miss her so very, very much. MaryEllen is survived by her Mother Theresa Daly of Pojoaque, NM; Daughter Jacqueline Anderson and husband Russell of Norman, OK; Son Jeremy Benavidez and wife Claudia Marquez of Alcalde, NM; Son Jason Benavidez of Norman, OK; Granddaughters Mercedes Anderson and Ella Marquez-Benavidez; Brother Anthony Barela and companion Kim Brissette of Albuquerque, NM; Brother John Sena and wife Felicia of Pojoaque, NM; Brother David Sena and wife Anna of Albuquerque, NM; Mother-in-law Senobia Benavidez of Tesuque, NM; Sister-in-law Barbra Benavidez of Tesuque, NM; Sister-in-law Jeanett Lawson and husband Mark of Tesuque, NM; Brother-in-law Robert Benavidez and wife Anita of Santa Fe, NM; Brother-in-law Ronald Benavidez and wife Jessie of Santa Fe, NM; many Uncles, Aunts and cousins; and many nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt dearly. A public visitation was held on September 19, 2012 in the Rivera Family Funeral Home Chapel in Espanola. A rosary was recited the same evening at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Santa Fe. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on September 20, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Santa Fe.
