Mary “Eileen” Laemmle, 6/8/1935 to 10/18/2021. Born and raised in Santa Fe. She was preceded in death by her father David R Laemmle and mother Mary R “Tucker” Laemmle of Santa Fe. She is survived by her sons, Joe Silva of Albuquerque and Anthony Silva, and his wife Lynett Larkin-Silva of Freeport, Maine, her brothers, David Laemmle, of Santa Fe, Rick Laemmle and his Wife Kay of Santa Fe, Ray Laemmle and his wife Liz of Los Alamos, sisters Viola Laemmle of Santa Fe and Barbara Armitage of Rio Rancho, her two Grandchildren, Sydney and Gabriel Silva of Freeport, Maine and many cousins, nieces, and nephews, Eileen had a long career as a grocery checker at Piggly Wiggly, Foodway, and Safeway. After leaving the grocery business she worked for a number of years at the front desks of both La Fonda and La Posada Hotels in Santa Fe until she fully retired. Eileen was very creative, quite talented. She loved the arts and making arts and crafts. When Eileen was younger, she was an avid bowler and bowled in several leagues as team captain. She also had a strong faith in God and was a past member of Saint John’s Catholic Church in Santa Fe. She was very close to and loved her family and friends and cherished her grandchildren. Eileen will be dearly missed by her siblings, family, and friends, There will be a Rosary for her on Tuesday Oct 26 at 6pm at Rivera Family Funeral at 417 East Rodeo Road Santa Fe. There will also be a Mass on Wed Oct 27 at 11am at Saint John’s the Baptist Catholic Church on Osage Avenue Santa Fe. There will be a private burial following the Mass.
