Mary Lina Lara

Mary Lina Lara, age 69, a resident of Nambe, NM, passed away on September 26, 2014 due to ovarian cancer. She was born on December 30, 1944 in Abiquiu, NM to Joe Chavez and Mabel Lucero. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Chavez and Mabel Lucero. She is survived by her son, Thomas and Veronica Lujan and family of San Diego, CA; daughters, Valerie Ortiz and family of Espanola, NM; Angela and Oscar Payan and family of Arroyo Seco, NM; Joy Lina Lara of Pojoaque, NM; Marline Lara and family of El Cajon, CA; brothers, Paul Chavez of Santa Fe, NM, and Anthony Vigil of Centre, CO; sisters, Carol Juarez of Deming, NM and Patricia Vigil of Chimayo, NM. Mary Lina was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a friend to all. She had a zest for life. She loved dancing, cooking, sewing, and especially her family. Her smile was a ray of sunshine. She is truly loved and will be missed dearly. She is forever in our hearts. A rosary was recited on Friday, October 3, 2014 at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada Catholic Church in Santa Cruz, NM. A Funeral mass took place following the rosary also at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada Catholic Church.
