Mary Lou Ortiz 76, of Nambe , NM. On the morning of June 3, 2018 Mary Lou joined our Lord and Saviour, with her beloved son and husband by her side. She was born on January 29, 1942 to Alfredo and Pauline Romero in Santa Fe, NM. She grew up on Rosario Hill. She attended Loretto Academy and later graduated from Santa Fe High School. She relocated to California with her first husband Marvin E. Shiplett where their first child Denise was born. They returned to Santa Fe, had their second child Marvin Jr., and Mary Lou began her employment with the State of New Mexico where she later retired. Above all, Mary Lou mostly enjoyed many things such as music, dancing, old movies and camping with her family and friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor making family events much more fun, lively and memorable. Above all she mostly enjoyed the times she was able to spend with her family. Mary Lou will be missed by many, but her spirit will always be with us and guide us. Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents: Alfredo and Pauline, her beloved daughter Denise Vigil Jimenez, sisters Dora and Grace (Joe Vigil), brothers Tom (Florine), Jack (Bertha), Harold (Estelle), brother-in-laws Pete Montoya and Frank Yardman. Mary Lou is survived by her son Marvin E. Jr, husband Gary J. Ortiz, granddaughter Sondra Vigil, grandson Christopher (Erika) Vigil and great grandson Aaron, Sisters Rosina Montoya, Antonia Ludi, Josephine Webb, Barbara Yardman, brothers Cesar Romero, Edmund Romero (Irene), mother-in-law Mary Sanders Corral (Ranulfo), in-laws Donna Jimenez, Rosina Martinez, Ruben (Cathy), Romero, Ramon Ortiz, Mary Jean Martinez, Patricia (Phillip) Sanchez, Kara Ann (Ron), Ortega, Lloyd (Terry) Sanders and many nieces, nephews and loved ones. Family and friends are invited to join in the Celebration and Remembrance of her life with a Rosary to be held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church at 7:30 pm on Monday, June 11, 2018. Mass to be held on Tuesday, June 12 at 10:00 am at St. Anne’s Catholic Church.
