Mary Riggins

Mary Frances Riggins passed away in Los Alamos, New Mexico on January 23, 2021. She was born on Nov. 21,1929 in Vernon, Texas to Henry and Allie Smithson.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband Clois Riggins, her parents, 3 sisters, and 4 brothers.

Frances is survived by her son Ron Riggins of Los Alamos, daughter Pam Gilrie, son-in-law Duane, grandson Derrick, granddaughter Sarah Gilrie Ruwe, and great grandson Sullivan Ruwe, all of St. Augustine, Florida.

She enjoyed working on the family farm and ranch in Mangum, Oklahoma from 1955 to 1966, before buying a laundromat in nearby Altus. After selling the laundromat she loved working at Margie's Hallmark for many years.

Frances and Clois moved to Albuquerque, N.M. in 1974 where she worked at the Winrock Hallmark store and assisted her son and husband in operating a used car business. Frances and her husband lived in Austin, Tx. and Elk City, Ok. for a short period of time.

Frances was a talented artist and cook. She was always stylishly dressed in the current fashions. Her grandchildren were very special to her and her husband Clois. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
