Mary Ulibarri

Mary Ulibarri 2/10/1937 - 3/28/2017 Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother joined the Lord on March 28th, 2017 while surrounded by her loving husband and caring family. She was born to Mary Guadalupe and Ambrosia Romero. She was raised by her grandparents, Maria Elena and Melaquias Montoya in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Mary is survived by her husband, of 61 years, George, children, Gina Streit (Richard), Robert Ulibarri (Kimberly), all from Albuquerque, and Patt Gallegos of Santa Fe. Grandchildren, Robbie and Kristina Gallegos (Gwydion), Robyn Ulibarri, Kayla Streit, Jenna Ulibarri, Erik Streit and Briana Ulibarri. Brothers, Ambrosio Romero Jr. (Gloria), Cecil Gutierrez (Kay), Floyd Gutierrez (Judy), Eloy Montoya (Agnes), Joe Montoya (Kathy). Sisters, Emma Mascarenas, Delma Montoya (Jimmy), Viola Hernandez (Joe), Dorothy Tabor, and Emily Carmichael (Randy). Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who were her pride and joy. There was nothing in the world that she would not do for them. Mary enjoyed boating and fishing and taught all of her children, and later on, her grandchildren. She had a passion for animals, especially her two cats Ginger and Dollie, whom she spoiled rotten. She also cared for the nineteen or so stray cats that she fed in her back yard year round. She will be remembered as an extremely kind, generous, and loving person and will be missed by her family, her many friends and all the family animals. Even though we have lost the comfort of Mary’s presence, we remember her in our hearts always. A public viewing will be held at the Kiva Chapel of Light at Rivera’s funeral home on April 3rd, 2017 at 6:00PM, followed by a rosary at 7:00PM. A mass of Christian faith will be held at St. Anne’s Parish on April 4th, 2017 at 11:00AM with the burial to follow at Rosario Cemetery. Please join the family after at St. Anne’s Parish for a reception. Serving as pall bearers will be Robert Ulibarri, Richard Streit, Kayla Streit, Erik Streit, Robbie Gallegos, Kristina Gallegos and Gwydion Brown. Honorary pall bearers, Ambrosia Romero, Cecil Gutierrez, Joe Montoya, John Ulibarri, Jimmy Montoya, Eloy Montoya and Bobby Montoya.
