His family was told “yes he lived”, but would have to lay in bed the rest of his life and would be incapable of holding up his head. He was under heavy seizure preventive and other medications. His God had other plans. Ten years later Matthew was off all medications, was walking with help up to ten miles a day, riding horses and enjoying swim therapy. He was always happy, loved people and was all over Santa Fe. Matthew was a living testimony to the power of his God and people sensed it and were attracted to him.               The following was inspired by Matthew, and spiritually conveyed to his mother:

                                                                I AM FREE

At times I want to go for my walk, At times I want to just sit and talk. .Sometimes I long to sleep, or rise up and eat but at times I just want to weep.

I wish I had a Pepsi but instead I get water or juice.  I like juice too but not water. I want to listen to music, I want to dance, to shop for my own clothes, my shoes, my coat and hat, and just shop till I drop.

I want to tell you about my dreams.  I want to make a snow man and slide down the hill or dive in the pool and swim.  I want to chew a piece of meat, to use my hands to work and play I want to see and perceive everything.  I want to reach out and help those in need like me.

I want to drive a yellow corvette.  I want to ride a bike. I want to wipe my own nose, and scratch when I itch.  I want to bathe, shave and brush my own teeth.  Oh! I want to sit and read.

But more than anything I want to walk with You Jesus, in the streets of Gold where there is no pain, all is gained and I can shout, Paul! Peter! John! Come run with me.

                                                          See? I’ve won the race

For I was bound but I AM FREE!!

Thank You Lord for the Victory

                                                               I AM FREE
