Matthew Cantu passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 30, 2024. In honor of Matthew, a memorial service will be held at Santa Fe Baptist Church, 4977 Agua Fria, on Saturday, November 2 at 11:00. Private burial will be held at a later date. Matthew was born on May 22, 1993, in Los Alamos, NM. He loved sports and was very accomplished. He was an individual state champion wrestler and part of a team championship for football in 2008 and wrestling in 2010 for St. Michael’s High School. He was an avid Los Angeles Rams fan and recently attended his first game.

Matthew attended school in Los Alamos, St. Michael’s High School, and graduated in 2011 from Mansfield High School.

We were blessed to have the last year with Matthew. He got to spend time with family at holidays and special events and was a favorite of his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed working at Jiffy Lube, where he was building a new career and life.

Matthew is survived by his son, Mateo Cantu; his parents, Albert and Michelle Cantu; his sister, Natasha (Brandon); his brother, Anthony (Sarah); grandparents, Bert and Mae Cantu and Mike and Mary Lou Allen; nieces and nephews, Alivia, Caiden, Mason, Emma, and Benjamin; and aunts and uncles, Thelma (Milo), Marsha (Andrew), and Michael (Jennifer).
