Maurice and his wife Susan Rosenblatt Turetsky moved to Santa Fe from Michigan in 1995. As an artist, he was enthralled with the clear light and blue skies of New Mexico. His passion for art and music was profound. As a young man he was groomed to be a classical pianist. However, he eventually gravitated towards the visual arts. Once in New Mexico, images of Billy the Kid and the lore of the Southwest fascinated him. He became well known as The Billy the Kid artist of the Southwest. His work has been exhibited in museums across New Mexico. He was so fortunate to have a wonderful studio attached to his beautiful home where he would listen to classical music while he painted and sculpted.
Life was good.
