Max Gene Newman

Mr. Max Gene Newman, age 83, of Los Alamos, New Mexico, died peacefully on Thursday, March 22, 2012. He was born in Lawrence, Kansas, to the late Joseph E. Newman and Iona M. McNaughton. Max retired from the Los Alamos National Laboratory after 40 years as a glass blower and is a veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Joseph E. Newman, Jr., and David Weldon Newman. He is survived by his sister Linda Nemish and her husband Charles, and six nieces: Jeanine Both, Denise Morgan, Cheryl Newman, Connie Haxton, Carla Farias and Cathy Vincent, as well as other relatives. Max always said he didnt want anyone to grieve for him, but his family would like to invite Maxs friends and neighbors to join them for a casual memorial gathering on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at 10 a.m. We will gather in the pines just west of the tennis courts behind UNM. A light lunch will be served.
