Maxine Bustos

Maxine “Max” Bustos a lifelong resident of Espanola, NM passed away surrounded by her family on July 7, 2022 at age 65.

Maxine loved spending time outdoors with the love of her life, best friend and husband Tim Bustos. She also loved being in the kitchen creating delicious meals, baking for her family, or playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. When she was not doing these things, she enjoyed gardening and playing with her “babies” Precious and Morris. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, friend, grandmother, and GiGi, who will be deeply and greatly missed.

Maxine is proceeded in death by her parents Antonio and Elsie Sanchez, siblings Emilio, Louisita, Lina, George and Anthony Sanchez, in-laws Dario Garcia, Margaret and Mickie Sanchez, niece and nephew Jessica and Andrew Sanchez, special stepson Ryan Bustos, grandson Pablo Ortega and her beloved mother-in-law Bernice Bustos.

She is survived by her husband “Timothy” Bustos, daughters: Rubina Loibl (Chris), Beverly Vigil (Julie), Krystal Mucha (DJ), stepdaughter Raeann Baca (Johnny). Her grandchildren Elena Ortega (Pablo), Andrea Loibl (Roman), Gabby, Jackie, Rex, Rocco Herrera, Heaven, Halo Baca, Mia Flores. Her greatgrandchildren David-Jeshua and Kamilah Ortega. Brothers, Ray (Mary) and Elmer (Patricia) Sanchez.  Father-in-law and friend Abel Bustos(Terry), close brother-in-law Gene Bustos, Eric Bustos, sisters-in-law Marian Bustamante(Jim) and Theresa Archuleta. “Adopted” daughter Nichole Herrera and a special nephew who was more like her little brother Alvin Garcia (Vickie).

A Rosary and Memorial Service is scheduled for 4:00 pm on September 9, 2022, at Rivera Funeral Home in Espanola, NM.

Serving as pallbearers are Alvin Garcia, Elmer Jr. and Kevin Sanchez, Sonna Serrano, Gene Bustos, Chris Loibl and all her loving grandchildren, her great grandchildren, her son-in-law and many other nephews and nieces.

Maxine's favorite color was Purple, and we would love it if you wore something purple with us to honor her.
