Merced A. Sandoval

Merced Sandoval, 91, of Nambe' passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday July 25, 2018. Merced was born on August 2, 1926 in Nambe to Merced and Andreita Sandoval who have preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife Elsie Ortiz Sandoval; brothers Sabestian, Vicente, Garcedan; sisters Josie Ortiz, Toni Herrera, Chana Gomez; in-laws Eduardo and Paublita Ortiz. He is survived by daughters Ymelda Santos (Ray) Nambe'; Joyce Hernandez (Gilbert) California; Beverly Perez, Albuquerque; son Jess Sandoval (Susan) California; eight grandchildren: Caroline, Chris, Toby, Nina, Daniel, Bernadette, Martina, Jeremy; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Also survived by one Sister; Juanita Misere; sister-in-law Juanita Sandoval, sister-in-law Laura McCloud, sister-in-law Anita Ortiz; brother-in-law Clyde Ortiz and wife Maria; many nieces and nephews and friends. Merced was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Rand Corp. in Santa Monica, California. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, 9:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church in Nambe with the Funeral Mass to follow at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 2:15 PM at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers: Arnold Garcia, Gabriel Ortiz, Chris and Toby Santos, Juan Hernandez and Jeremy Perez. The Family of Merced Sandoval has entrusted the care of their loved one to the Rivera Family Funeral Home and Crematory of Espanola, NM.
