Mercedes A. Chavez, 80, of El Prado passed away on June 15, 2015. She is preceded in death by her husband, Adelmo Chavez, son, Tom Chavez, grandson, Bryan Chavez, numerous brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children, Lorraine Joanna Silva (Tony), Yolanda Chavez, Victor Chavez (Debbie), Linda Chavez (Mike), 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, sister, Ruperta LaCome, brother in-law, Johnny Trujillo, sisters in-law, Evangeline Montoya (Albert), Frances Espinoza, many other relatives and friends. Rosary was recited on June 16, 2015 at Rivera Chapel. Funeral mass was held on June 17, 2015 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Arroyo Hondo with interment following at the Arroyo Hondo Community Cemetery.
