Mercedes Carrillo passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family and loved ones.  She was a devote Catholic and had a strong faith.  Mercedes was also a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother of a large family.  She was a great cook and baker which everyone that knew her will miss. She also enjoyed gardening, being the family seamstress and crocheting.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma, and father Cruz Gonzalez and her 5 siblings.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Pablo Ortiz Carrillo and her sons, Fidel, and Paul Carrillo, her daughters, Veronica Carrillo, Stella Mendoza, and Rosalina Rivera, her grandchildren, Patrick Carrillo Valencia, Roberta Vigil and Catherine Carrillo Melendez.

Mercedes is survived by her children:  Andres Carrillo (Melinda), Miguel Carrillo (Annette), Ruby Dean (Joe), David Carrillo, Jerry Carrillo (Robin) and Anita Martinez (Joey).

Her grandchildren: Barbara, Clyde, Roberta, Andy, Camille, Mary, Sarah, Gabe, Catherine, Patrick, Stephen, Michael, Joseph, George, Priscilla, Marlene, Mercedes, Luciano Jr., Cecilia, Dalio, Amy, Sharon, Gilbert, Julian, Bryan, Sophia, Markus, Collin, and Katherine. 

Great Grandchildren: Clyde Carlos, Cassandra, Cruz, Raymundo, Scott, Emily, Auggie, Teresa, Joseph, Emiliano, Josiah, Leonardo, Esperanza, Salvador, Pablo, Laneah, Anika, Madelyn, Dimitri, Illiana, Ethan, Deven, , Lucas, Faith, Julio, Angelo, Elizabeth, Daniel, Jordan, Joelee, Jude, Marco, Edmundo, Anali, Tillie, ,Isaiah, Fabian, Sabrina, Joseph, Cassandra, Kaylena, Mareena, Antonio, Diego, Destiny, Asaya.

A Rosary will be recited on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 6:30 pm and a Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.  Both services will be at St. John’ the Baptist Catholic Church in Santa Fe, NM.  The committal service will follow the funeral mass at the cemetery in Lamy, NM.  A reception will follow in Santa Fe.   Location will be announced at the services.
