Merlin Randall, age 78, passed away surrounded by his family on July 20, 2019 at the Heart Hospital in Albuquerque.
He was born in Embudo, NM, the youngest child of Elisha and Erna Randall. He graduated from Taos High and UNM. As a member of the Randall family, he managed Taos Mill, a division of Randall Lumber Company, Inc. for many years. He was a member of Bent Lodge #42 and the First Presbyterian Church in Taos. His passions were steam trains (model and full scale), and outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting and camping with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by brother, John Randall and sister, Minnie Lou Stephens. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ada; his children Terry, and Tamara (Todd) Hepler; granddaughters Elizabeth Randall, and Elaine and Lorelei Hepler; brother Charles (Dorothy) Randall; sister-in-law Pat Randall; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Taos. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends of the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad, www.cumbrestoltec.org, (4421 McLeod Rd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109), or a charity of your choosing.
