Merly Tafoya

Merly Rodarte Tafoya, 67, of Penasco, N.M. was born April 5, 1940 in Llano, N.M. to Rubel and Raquel M. Rodarte. She past away August 20, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her father Rubel and her two infant sons, Daniel and Michael Tafoya. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, David L. Tafoya Sr. Her children David Tafoya Jr. "Boy" and wife Nanette Tafoya, Joyce Tafoya Vaughan and husband Ronnie Vaughan, Carmela Tafoya Jaramillo and husband Eric Jaramillo, Daniel M. Tafoya and wife Rachel Tafoya, Louise Tafoya C de Baca and husband Reuben C de Baca, Elena May Tafoya and daughters, Merly-Renae, Margarita and Martina, ten other grandchildren, Davina Tafoya Lucero and husband Ernest Lucero, Amanda, Angela, LeAndra, Wesley, Daniella, Bradley, Nancy-Larissa, Carolina, and Maximiliano and three great-grandchildren, David-Xavier, Ernest Elijah, and Tristanee. She is also survived by her mother Raquel M. Rodarte, six brothers, and four sisters. Merly's greatest joy was being in her kitchen and cooking for her family. She also loved to make quilts, loved her friends and her involvement in RCIA classes through the church. She will be missed dearly. Rosary was recited at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Penasco. Funeral mass was held at San Antonio de Padua Church on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 Interment followed at Llano de San Juan Catholic Cemetery.
