Michael A. Cunningham, Jr. a lifelong resident of Santa Fe, NM, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025. He joined his Parents Michael and Charlotte and sister Angela in heaven so they could all go out to the Casino.
Michael is survived by his brother Walter and Sister Michelle. His Uncle John Cunningham, Aunts Jean Claussen, and Martha Catanach; Cousins Letitia and John Jr.; Teddy, Liz, Pat, Anthony, and Kathleen; Claire, Elaine, Brian and Brad; Rod, Lisa, Jeff, Chris, Kim and Holly; and his niece Jennifer and nephews Ben, Sam and Alex.
Michael is preceded in death by his Father Michael A Cunningham, Sr, Mother Charlotte J Catanach Cunningham; sister Angela Camp; Grand Parents Romeo and Christine Cunningham, Frank and Angelita Catanach; Uncles Frank and Gilbert Catanach, and Ted Legits; Aunts Annie Legits and Robin Catanach; and cousin Walter Catanach.
Michael was a proud graduate of St. Michael’s High School, Class of 1981. He loved to cook and retired from the kitchen at Christus St. Vincent’s Hospital. Michael was a member of the Santa Fe Elks Lodge 460. He loved to watch the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the San Francisco 49ers. He made friends wherever he went. His zeal for life was contagious, as was his smile. Michael will be dearly missed by all that knew and met him, but mostly by his siblings.
A rosary will be held Thursday, April 10th @ 6:00 pm at Rivera Family Funeral Home, Santa Fe. A Mass to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, April 11th, @ 10:00 am at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. A reception will follow from 12:00-3:00 pm at the Santa Fe Elks Lodge.
