Michael was a proud NM Air National Guard veteran from 1966-1971. He attended College of Santa Fe and graduated with a Masters degree in accounting. His career spanned 30 plus years, retiring from the State of New Mexico and Los Alamos National Laboratories as a Certified Public Accountant. He was a lifelong musician extraordinaire playing multiple instruments complementing his strong, powerful, beautiful voice. Starting at age 17, he began playing in bands all over Santa Fe and in Las Vegas Nevada. He was also a well known Mariachi singer, playing at Garduno’s restaurant and later with Mariachi Plata. He sang at many funerals, weddings and other special events. He especially loved to sing for the Lord. His music ministry in the church was broad, singing masses at various churches, during cursillo retreats, marriage enrichments and would accompany the archbishop for the prison ministry outreach. Our father was a recorded musician recording numerous CDs to include his favorite Gospel, Spanish, Western and personally written songs. His other passions included photography of wildlife and the New Mexico landscape. He passed his love of God, and love of singing and photography to his children. Beyond all of this was his deep love, support and care for his family. Showering them with gifts, calls, texts and stories about the good old days. A special thank you to Del Oro Caregiving Services (Sarah and Juan), Martha Sandoval, caregiver, and his many therapists. We celebrate our father’s life with fond memories, laughter, music and unconditional love.
