Michael Mckirnan

Michael Sean McKirnan, 56, passed away suddenly at his home in Santa Fe on October 19, 2024. Mike was born August 22, 1968 in Glendale, California. He was the youngest of 3 children of Alice Valdes & the late Thomas J. McKirnan. In 1996 Mike moved from Southern California to Santa Fe to live with his grandmother Eppie Mares Valdes, widow of John G. "Johnnie" Valdes. Several years later his mother Alice joined Mike in Santa Fe where they both lived ever since. In 2008, Ava was born, daughter of Mike & Suzannah Yetman. In addition to his mother Alice, daughter Ava and Ava's mother Suzannah, Mike is survived by his brother Charles "Chuck" McKirnan and wife Sandy; sister Michele Stone & husband Augie Gonzales; nephew & nieces Darrick McKirnan, Brittany Stone, Paige Stone, Alexandra Stone and Chelsea Gonzales and many cousins and friends. Mike worked for many years as a glazier, installing glass in homes, businesses and automobiles. Very talented, Mike also excelled at carpentry, auto mechanics and landscaping, and was always engaged in projects to repair, refurbish, and remodel living spaces at his home with Alice & Ava. A much beloved son, father and brother, Mike was very kind and generous. He is much loved and missed by family and friends alike. Services will be at St. Francis Basilica.
