Michael Varela

Michael Varela, 56 passed away suddenly on December 9, 2021. He was born on June 9, 1965 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Mike and Frances Varela.

He is survived by his parents; Mike and Frances Varela, daughters; Jamie and Valerie Varela, Lois Varela, brother; Darrell Varela (Priscilla), sisters; Darelene and Mattie Varela, nieces; Chrystal Wright (Jr), Maddison and Aubrey Armijo, Alexandria and Rosie nephews; Mark Armijo, Jayden Gonzales and Jordan Zamora, godfather to; Jayden Gonzales and Kiarra Zamora. And many loving friends and family members.

Michael Varela: Faith as big the sky with a personality to match, son, father, brother, uncle and friend. Mike was a musician – singer, athlete, Harley rider and Solider! Served in the Armed Forces as a Medic as well as the National Guard. He will be forever missed.

A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Rivera Kiva Chapel of Light located at 417 East Rodeo Road Santa Fe, New Mexico 87505. Followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place following the service at Santa Fe Memorial Gardens.
