Miguel Ernesto Diaz-Gonzalez born in Panama City, Panama in 1927 passed away quietly at home in Ranchos de Taos on August 9, 2021. He came to Taos, NM to be cared for by his daughter Marianna and son-in-law Steven in his last years. He leaves behind his 4 children, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Miguel was very proud of his successful struggle to achieve the American dream. He obtained an engineering degree from Berkeley, a Masters Degree from UCLA, achieved the rank of Sgt. 1st Class while serving in the Army as a tank commander in the Korean War, worked for NASA on the Apollo program, and worked for Boeing as a stress engineer. Miguel often said he loved his work at the Boeing Company in Seattle, WA so much that he would have worked for free if they didn’t pay him. He loved traveling the world and making friends everywhere he went. Miguel always had a story to tell. While there will be no funeral, the family requests prayers for Miguel and his loved ones. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in his honor are appreciated.
