Miguel Ramírez-Vasquez

September 29th, 1940-December 24th, 2022

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Miguel left this earth on December 24th, 2022. He leaves behind a loving family, friends and community. Miguel was a resident of Pecos/Rowe area and adored the place he called home.

Born on September 29th, 1940 in Guanajuato, Mexico, Miguel was the oldest of seven children to Aldegunda Vasquez and Juan Ramírez. At a very early age, Miguel learned the importance of hard work and began working to help support his family in any way he could. Hard work was not something Miguel was a stranger to. As a young adult, Miguel was a trained boxer in Mexico but left that behind when he migrated to the U.S. in 1963 in hopes of a brighter future. In 1971 he met wife Monica Vasquez in Rowe, NM and together had four children.

Miguel loved to fish, hunt, cheer on the Pecos sports teams and spend time in the Rowe Mesa. For many years he owned his own firewood business and later retired from Fork Lightning Ranch in 2016. He was a kind and loving soul, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was an amazing father and had such a STRONG bond to younguest daughter Cristal with whom he resided with until his death.

He is preceded in death by his parents, mother and father in law Emilio and Rosario Gutierrez, brothers Rito, Tomas, Gregorio, sister Anna, many other relatives and close friends but most importantly his beloved daughter Andrea Medrano "kabuki".

He is survived by wife Monica, son Miguel (Klarissa), daughter Cristal, son in law Orlando, son in law Pepe, brother Salo (Cynthia), sister Rosa (Juan), nieces Camille, Tamara, Sasha, close grandchildren Juan, Mathew, Krista Rose (Brian), Miguelito, Angelique, Rudy, Noah, Angelica, Jose, Salvador "Chava", Daniel, Elizabeth, Orlando, Adan, eight great grandchildren and many more relatives and special friends.

Miguel lived such a full life and was so loving/welcoming to anyone he met. The reassurance of knowing that he is now looking down on us and at rest with his beloved daughter Andrea is what will get us through this difficult time. On behalf of all his family we thank you for taking the time to read this and for all your continued prayers and support. In the words of Miguel, "Échale Ganas."
