Mike Apodaca

Mike T. Apodaca, 83, of Las Vegas, NM, passed away July 19, 2009 due to illness. Mike was born on October 7, 1925 to Dionicio Apodaca and Agueda Tapia in Villanueva, NM. He married Nora Bernal on February 4, 1949. Mike was a cattle rancher and a businessman in Northern NM. He is a Navy Veteran of WWII, served on the USS Markab in the Asiatic Pacific area, American area, and Philippians Liberation. He also received a Victory Medal WWII. He is preceded in death by his parents Dionicio Apodaca and Agueda Tapia, brother Luis Ernesto Apodaca and sister Maria Trujillo. Mike is survived by wife Nora B. Apodaca, daughters Jean Martin of Northampton, PA, and Diane Arguello of Santa Fe, NM, sons Michael Apodaca of Pecos, NM, Mario Apodaca of Houston, TX, and Dan Apodaca of Las Vegas, NM, brothers Hilario Apodaca, and Joe and wife Becky Apodaca, sisters Florence and husband Fabian Martinez, Rose Pacheco, Faulstina Romero and Mary Solidad Baca. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 7:00pm at Santa Fe Funeral Options Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 10:00am at St. Anne Catholic Church. Burial will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
