Mildred Inez Freeman Ortega

MILDRED INEZ FREEMAN ORTEGA, 83 of Santa Fe, NM, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 following an extended illness. Mildred was born in Liberty, Mississippi and worked at the Louisiana School for the Deaf in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Here she met her future husband Ernesto Ortega. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carey and Versie Freeman. She is survived by her loving husband, Ernesto Ortega and her two daughters, Yolanda Ruth Freeman Ortega and Catherine Maria Freeman Ortega. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am Wednesday, January 10, 2018, and the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am,, both services at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1301 Osage Ave, in Santa Fe. Interment will follow at Rosario Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial services at Lamy Hall at St. John’s Church.
