Miles Weaver

September 30, 2005 — May 20, 2023

It is with profound heartache that we share the unexpected passing of our son, Miles Weaver, on Saturday May 20th, 2023.

Miles Andrew Weaver was born on Friday, September 30, 2005 in Los Alamos, New Mexico. He grew up in White Rock, NM loving everything from the kite festivals to July 4th festivities.  He went to elementary school at Pinon, then to Los Alamos Middle School and finally was a junior at Los Alamos High School.

Miles was a joyous kid, funny and friendly. As a young child, he loved bubbles, playing soccer, and looked up to his big brother, Leeson. He enjoyed helping his mom bake, especially since he could eat the goodies afterward. He also was fearless - climbing out of his crib, up door jams and scaling trees. He loved ziplines, escape rooms, and amusement parks. He enjoyed snowboarding and skiing in the winter.  He was a Boy Scout and considered the summer camps the best part. He had an inquisitive mind, and we never knew what he would be up to next.

School came easy for Miles, but he found the social aspect to be the best part. He loved playing sports, spending time outdoors, and hanging out with friends. At LAHS, he found and loved auto shop. He was ready to work on all things mechanical and he spent countless hours helping his dad build a motor for their ‘67 Chevelle. Miles loved to learn about all kinds of repair work and never backed away from a job, even if he was in over his head. He persevered and always finished the task at hand. He was unsure of his future, but was leaning towards attending WyoTech to pursue a career in auto mechanics.

Miles is survived by his father Travis (Gina) Weaver, mother Leigh Barham (Daniel Hooks), brother Leeson Weaver, and stepbrothers Liam and Edward Hooks.  He is also survived by his grandmother Carol Woodworth, uncle Jeff Hayes, aunts Kari Maier (Priscilla Leong), Kriege (Steve) Janz, Darcy (Leejay) Walters-Robles and many great aunts, uncles and cousins and friends.

In honor of Miles, the family extends an invitation to any who knew and loved him, or are affected by the loss of such a beautiful young person, to join in remembrance this coming Thursday afternoon, June 1, 2023 from 1-3 pm at the LAHS auto shop. In memory of Miles, feel free to wear your favorite “hoodie”.

Please leave any condolences, stories of Mile’s life and adventures, and pictures here for the family to collect and feel warmth from.
