Mickie (Miquelita) Medina

Miquelita “Mickie” Medina was born on March 14, 1933 in Chimayo, NM.  She was born to Enemecio O Martinez and Benita Fresquez Martinez.  Mickie peacefully went to be with the Lord on September 28, 2022 at the age of 89, following the passing of her beloved soulmate of 66 years.

She was surrounded by her most treasured loved ones.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, her husband Dan Medina, daughter Lucia Medina, granddaughter Danielle Romero, sisters Tillie Gonzales, Elena Naranjo, Lydia Stone, and brother Leopoldo Martinez. She is survived by her son Mario and companion April, granddaughters Moorea, Ava, and Michelle, great grandson Adrian, sisters Josie, Rita, Zoraida, Susie, brother Anthony, sister in law Gloria, and many extended family members. 

Mickie was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.   Mickie loved spending time in her kitchen.  She was known for inviting everyone she knew and met to join her at her dining room table for a meal.  She will be remembered as a selfless woman who loved everybody.   Mickie had a huge impact on the lives of many people and left a mark on everybody she touched.  She was a loyal friend and will be loved and missed by many. 

The Medina family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to friends and family members who came to visit, and for the many calls over the last couple of weeks.

Services will be held at Holy Family Church in Chimayo on Friday, October 7, 2022, beginning with a rosary @ 9:00am followed by the funeral mass in celebration of life @ 10:00am.
